Learning paths with prerequisites and drip scheduling
A learning path is a guided programme: an ordered set of courses that takes a learner from where they are to where they need to be, without them having to figure out the order themselves.
What a path gives you
- Prerequisites — a course in the path stays locked until the learner completes what comes before it, so nobody skips the safety induction before the machinery course.
- Adaptive progression — learners who can already demonstrate a skill can move faster along the path instead of sitting through content they've mastered.
- Drip scheduling — release lessons on fixed dates, or relative to each learner's enrolment date, so later joiners automatically get their own schedule rather than arriving mid-stream.
How it works in Learnivo
- Create the path and add courses in order — self-paced courses, live sessions or a mix.
- Set prerequisites between steps, choose fixed-date or enrolment-relative drip release, and configure lesson-level unlock dates.
- Enrol learners individually, by group or by department.
- Track each learner's position and completion across the whole path, with per-step progress visible in analytics and reports.

Honest limits
Adaptive progression speeds learners past content whose skills they've demonstrated in the platform; it doesn't infer outside learning. Path structure is managed by admins and programme owners — learners can't build their own paths.
Questions people ask
What does a typical path look like?
An onboarding path might run: compliance fundamentals (all courses) → role basics → a live instructor-led session → an assessment, with each step unlocking the next and lessons dripping out over the first two weeks of employment.
Can a path include live sessions, not just online courses?
Yes — paths mix self-paced courses, live sessions and assessments.
If someone joins the path late, do they see everything at once?
No — with enrolment-relative drip scheduling, each learner's schedule starts from their own enrolment date.
Can I see where each person is in the path?
Yes — per-learner position and completion are visible to managers and admins in analytics and training reports.

Learning paths with prerequisites
What it means: Chain courses in order and require earlier ones to be completed first.
Why it matters: For administrators, this helps reuse learning materials and keep course delivery consistent. Instructors can create and update lessons without rebuilding everything. Learners can study content in formats that suit their needs. Partner organisations can share a consistent learning experience across organisations.
Current status: Available — Available in the app; confirm fit and readiness for your organisation before purchase.
Adaptive learning paths
What it means: Paths that adjust to each learner's results, steering them to content suited to their level.
Why it matters: For administrators, this helps reuse learning materials and keep course delivery consistent. Instructors can create and update lessons without rebuilding everything. Learners can study content in formats that suit their needs. Partner organisations can share a consistent learning experience across organisations.
Current status: Beta — Functional but actively evolving. May have limitations. Adaptive progression exists in the app, but its decisions require validation against learner outcomes.
Lesson drip scheduling (fixed dates or enrollment-relative)
What it means: Release lessons on fixed dates, or a set number of days after each learner enrols.
