Certificates with expiry, renewal and public verification
When a learner completes a course, Learnivo issues the certificate — automatically, from your template. For compliance and licensed skills, certificates can carry an expiry and renewal window, so a lapsed qualification is visible before the audit, not during it.
What's included
- Automatic issuance — certificates are generated when a learner completes a qualifying course; no one has to remember to print anything.
- Custom templates — your branding, fields and signature blocks.
- Expiry & renewal windows — set how long a certificate stays valid; learners and admins see what's expiring and what renewal looks like.
- Verifiable Open Badges — achievements also issue as Open Badges learners can share, each publicly verifiable.
- Public verification — every certificate and badge has a public verification link: an employer or auditor checks it without needing a Learnivo login. Try it at verify a certificate or verify a badge.
How it works
- Design your certificate template (or use the default) and attach it to a course.
- Set a validity period in months, or leave it non-expiring.
- Learner completes the course — certificate issued automatically and added to their records.
- The learner shares the public verification link; the verifier sees what was achieved, when, and whether it's still current.
Plan availability
- Certificates of completion and verifiable Open Badges — every plan, including Free
- Custom certificate templates, expiry & renewal windows — Pro plans and above
Honest limits
A certificate proves course completion as recorded in the platform — including any external or SCORM content's own completion reporting. Renewal windows flag what's due; renewing still requires the learner to complete the renewal path you set.
Questions people ask
Can an employer verify a certificate without logging in?
Yes — public verification pages work with just the certificate or badge link.
Do certificates expire automatically?
Expiry is set per course: some certificates never expire; compliance certificates can be given a validity period in months with renewal tracking.
Can we use our own design?
Yes — custom templates carry your branding and signature blocks (Pro and above).
What about CPD points?
For professionals who need continuing professional development, the CPD ledger tracks points alongside certificates.
